A common question I get is how to find a way to marry fashion and function. These are some snaps from my family's day in DUMBO. We spent a fun-filled afternoon riding the magnificent carousel, eating ice cream, and taking in the gorgeous city views. A summer Sunday outing with the kids requires comfort, but that doesn't mean we have to sacrifice style in the name of ease.Read More

With festival season around the corner, I find myself channeling my inner free-spirit which is reflected in my style with bohemian-inspired accessories. I love an embroidered kimono and floppy hat, but I have spent quite some time in search of a luxe collection of bohemian jewelry. I like to incorporate my passion for hippie-era dressing into my daily outfits, but the pieces need to seamlessly suit my current lifestyle--which is pretty much the opposite of La Vie Boheme. As much as I’d like to be at Coachella in my bikini and cut-off’s, I’ll likely be grocery shopping, doing preschool drop off, and taking my daughters to the synagogue on Shabbat. I need the more refined, grown up version of bohemian jewels. I recently discovered Ela Rae jewelry which perfectly suits both my more-is-more layering aesthetic and my occasional need for the delicate and elegant. The breathtaking pieces are a modern interpretation of the vintage bohemian pieces I’ve lusted after for years. Each exquisite design is handmade in New York City with gold, silver, semi-precious stones, and colorful earthy gems that have been collected from around the world.
If you live in the NYC area, please join me this Thursday evening for a lesson in layering as I host the launch of Ela Rae Jewelry at Bloomingdale’s!

One of my favorite parts of fashion is the mix and match game. I love restyling my favorite pieces in innovative ways that feel fresh and cool. This "outside the box" look is full of contradicting elements that work together in harmony. The edgy leather dungarees become a surprising spring staple when worn with a floaty, lace off-the-shoulder blouse. This pairing could work for day or night, but the flannel shirt adds an element of 90's grunge that brings weekend-casual vibes. A simple choker combined with piles of silver Melissa Lovy jewels create an easy glamour that shows "more is more" accessories do not have to look overly contrived or done-up. An "ear party" featuring hoops, a whimsical pretzel stud, and a sleek ear cuff is youthful and fun. The ensemble maintains its downtown edge with the choice of masculine platform brogues.

I want to talk a bit about something that is extremely close to my heart: Israel. I fell in love with Israel on my first visit as an 18-year-old delegate on Birthright. I spent a lot of time there over the past 12 years, even living in Jerusalem at 2 different points for many months. The strong ties I feel to my homeland are a connection that is so deeply rooted, it is indescribable. I know I am not alone in these feelings. I may not reside there currently, but Israel is my home.
It is terribly sad, but the state of threats against Israel and Israelis is by no means new territory for its citizens. There is, however, a deep sense of urgency to help those who have been victimized by terrorism. The most recent flair up of random attacks on civilians has left many of us feeling helpless and asking ourselves, "What can I do from so far away?" I know with each news report I see of violent acts in Israel, my heart breaks a little more.
Lately, I've spent a lot of time reevaluating my work and the direction of my blog. I love writing about fashion and accessories, but I feel a call to action in these crucial times. It has been a dream of mine to be able to combine my passion for accessories with my passion for Israel to help make a difference in the world, as small as it may be. I am excited to announce that after speaking with several fantastic people who share this dream, we are hoping to make it a reality.
I, along with Mika Dumont of Elahn Jewels, Erin Lichy of Erin Dana handbags, Eliana Landenheim of EishesStyle, artists Jessica Tamar Deutch and Meirav Ong, Incredible Creations, and Ronen Seri of Blossom Restaurants am partnering with One Family Fund to bring you an evening to shop, sip, and support Israel. One Family Fund is a non-profit organization that serves as the family of Israel’s victims of terror attacks – "those who have been bereaved, those who have been maimed, and those suffering from post-trauma as a result of terrorist attacks." One Family Fund works tirelessly to empower victims of terror and to help them rebuild their lives.
If you are in the NYC area, I sincerely hope you can join us for one night to unite for Israel! This will be a special evening of Chanukah shopping, socializing, eating, and drinking, with proceeds benefiting One Family Fund. We may be far away, but we can still do our part to help victims of terror in Israel.

There is nothing more American than blue jeans and a white T-shirt, except for maybe Coca-Cola and baseball. Fall fashion demands denim, but this basic has undergone a very unbasic transformation. This season's blue jeans come in the form of patched jackets, 70's-inspired button front skirts, chic dresses, bags, and even heels. I find myself constantly gravitating to these upgraded denim pieces. The juxtaposition of a polished silhouette composed of the iconically laid back fabric is irresistible. When dressing up denim, it is important to elevate the look with fabulous accessories. These exquisite jewels from Melissa Lovy add the perfect, elegant finishing touch! Melissa Lovy's jewelry has a classic-meets-modern take on versatility with styles that appeal to every woman for just about any occasion. I have been living in the sleek Augusta cuff!
