NewsFLASH: the sun is shining and you should be too! Sparkly attire is no longer limited to New Year’s Eve or cheesy nights at the club in Vegas. Some of our favorite street style stars like Mira Duma, Chiara Ferragni, and Giovanna Battaglia have shown us that with the right pairings, sequins can make a spectacular daytime statement! Here are three tips for rocking sequins before dark:

Let's talk tights. While historically categorized as an undergarment, in recent years, hosiery has become a statement-making accessory. One of the perks of cooler weather is the addition of this legwear layer. Opaque, sheer, fishnet, patterned, lace, jeweled...the possibilities for gorgeous gams are endless.
I recently paid a visit to TipToe Boutique to test-drive a few of the hundreds of styles of tights that they carry. Minus the fluorescent rainbow pair I rocked with my ugly school uniform in middle school, I have always been leery of funky tights. I have long admired the way they look on gals with supermodel-length-legs, but was worried they would be unflattering on my petite frame. I've always stuck to basic opaque and sheer solids, which frankly doesn't cut it for a connoisseur of excessive accessories.
For my entry into trendy tights territory, I decided to start with this pair of Pretty Polly Secret Sock Tights. This was an easy transition, because I love the look of over-the-knee boots. These tights are equally as flattering as OTK boots, and they give a sexy Ode To Clueless vibe. They are also unbelievably warm, because of the extra "sock" layer. At about $25 a pair, they make a great "stocking-stuffer!"
Stay tuned for more of my adventures in the world of eccentric nylons. This is an outfit I would wear to a casual, but festive holiday party. The colors are quite literal, which was unintentional, but hilarious. Especially because I am Jewish. I topped the ensemble off with my season essential: the chic black fedora. This one is by Yestadt Millinery and is also from TipToe Boutique.

This post may appear to be directed to the guys, but ladies, you'd better be listening! Whether or not your guy cares about what he wears, I recommend that you take an active role in his style. With the right tools, your man can be your best accessory this winter.
While it is important not to judge a book by its cover, we must all be aware that first impressions are crucial. What is the first item we see on a man as fall turns into winter? His coat. It is neither necessary, nor realistic to look like a GQ editorial 24/7, but a North Face puffer has no place over a suit, no matter how cold it is. In my humble opinion, a North Face puffer has no place anywhere except over scrubs or gym clothes or in an epic blizzard after the age of 30. Grown men need grown up coats. While women look glamorous in their elegant furs (real or faux), men don't have as many options when it comes to keeping warm in freezing conditions. (I just cannot get behind fur coats for guys--I'm talking to you, Joe Namath!) Wool and cashmere look great, but they aren't warm enough for the darkest depths of winter. Last I checked, work doesn't get cancelled when temperatures fall below freezing, so what is a man to wear over his suit to avoid catching hypothermia? Where is the coat that provides the perfect compromise of style and warmth? Apparently, this was a question that had gone unanswered for years. Thankfully, Michael Berkowitz and his team of fellow Wall Street traders decided to make it their mission to figure it out.
Norwegian Wool was founded to fill a very important void in the men's fashion market. Fashion meets function in the form of a winter coat. The waterproof cashmere coats have a down lining to give the feel of a parka, with the tailored look of a dapper topcoat. My husband could not believe how warm it was and I could not believe how sharp it looked! Win, win! From jeans, to suits, to those icky scrubs, Norwegian Wool is topping my list of men's winter essentials this season. It's time to discreetly dispose out that horrendous parka purchased in 1998, and give your guy an upgrade. Because when he looks good, you look even better.

I have major news. Pologeorgis, famous for their gorgeous, world-renowned, hand-tailored fur collection, has just launched an E-commerce site, making their luxurious furs accessible to each and every one of you! I first discovered Pologeorgis a couple of years ago and was blown away by the perfect combination of timeless elegance and modern edge that each piece possesses. I can't believe I am saying this, but I actually look forward to brutal NYC winter temperatures so I can don my chic fur purchases from Pologeorgis. The exquisite collection is composed with the finest quality materials and designed to extreme precision in styles that are both incredibly fashionable and incredibly wearable (think fur-collared bomber jackets and fox vests). And did I mention the accessories!? The cozy beanies, luxe infinity scarves (fall-transition must-have!!), and deliciously warm gloves are all magnificent! I had the pleasure of styling pieces from the collection for my Pologeorgis Instagram takeover. Here are some of my favorites, though I think I called every single fur "my favorite" at some point throughout the day. Shop the collection at Pologeorgis.com and follow my fun and fur-filled day of dress-up tomorrow, Thursday, October 1st, as I take over the Pologeorgis Instagram.

As summer winds down, we have our sights set on what is arguably fall's most essential accessory: the statement boot. This season, boot trends are anything but basic, so take a risk with a stand-out pair to ensure you have the most fabulous feet on the street. Nervous to invest a lot in a bold design? No problem. I have tracked down budget-friendly options of each must-have style. Are you ready, boots? Start walking!
How to wear:
Pair with a cozy turtleneck and a button-front denim skirt for a 70's moment that is clean, but still glam.
HOW TO WEAR:
Play up the luxe boots with a suede mini shift dress. Sleek gold accessories are the perfect complement to the striking python.
HOW TO WEAR:
Commit to the tribal-chic look with an oversized poncho and a pop of denim. Leather pants and a classic bag keep the look modern.
HOW TO WEAR:
The patent boot screams for a mod nod. There is no better pairing for this boot than a belted mini skirt. Keep it classic with a solid sweater and trench, or go bold with stripes and fur.
HOW TO WEAR:
Let your feet do the talking by keeping the rest of your look mostly neutral. It should be noted that neutral does not have to mean boring. Gray denim and a sporty sweatshirt contrast wonderfully with these blingy boots. Cuff the jeans to show a bit of ankle.
